Paul Koniecki is “One of the Rough”

When Richard Bailey heard Paul Koniecki reading poetry, he connected his voice to the main character of his then developing movie, One of the Rough. The two joined forces, and Paul’s voice became our guide through this urban fable of the layers of history that go into the rise and fall of cities and the struggles people in both urban and rural areas share in trying to keep afloat financially. Paul’s poetry, sprinkled throughout the film, accents the storyine the way a percussionist plays with silence to create rhythm. One of the Rough has been featured at the Berlin Experimental Film Festival and is currently being studied at the University of Hamburg by Tropic Pictures and G20 for its social relevance.
